My girl wants to potty all the time, potty all the time, potty all the time
Pardon the Eddie Murphy song parody; it’s a joke in our house. My husband and I like to sing it to our daughter, who hates it. Yes, I have totally become like my parents. They always would sing the incorrect words to songs and embarrass the heck out of my sister and I, usually in public.
Woot, woot! I am celebrating the six month anniversary of my daughter being completely potty trained.
She was interested in potty training early and initially did well, but regressed last year when our second child was born. Since then, we’ve put in a lot of time, effort, and pullups. What really made the difference in our potty training experience was knowing that she wouldn’t be allowed to attend preschool without being able to use the restroom by herself- and she really wanted to go to preschool. We still have to visit every restroom in every store and restaurant, but it has been totally worth it.
She loves her brightly colored underwear with Disney princesses, Trolls, Paw Patrol characters, and Peppa Pig, and I love only having to buy diapers for and wipe the butt of only one kid. Seriously, it’s the little things in life that bring such happiness.
